BetterHelp - Therapy App Reviews

It is a good concept to match people with an actual counselor with formal training and credentials to prove it. I believe we all have life experiences that allow us to help counsel other people, but if this app is asking for payment information upfront, which no other apps do, and not offering any credentials or giving some methodology for how they "match" people??? I did enter a request for a match, with no payment information so If I receive a match and some more answers I may change my opinion of this scam. But for now I feel like people need to really think this through before entering credit card information.

Apparently Im too depressed for this app.

If you get the right therapist, it is a tremendous help. If not, you can always get a new therapist. I recommend seeing a therapist in person.

This app has been beneficial for me. I enjoy being able to message the counselor on my time during my busy schedule.

Ive only been using this app for a few weeks and already it is worked wonders in the way that I approach negative situations in my life. I had been looking at life through a cloudy lens and Better Help allowed me to realize that and take the necessary steps to improve. In the short amount of time I have been using this, there has been a drastic change in the way that I see myself and others. I no longer feel helpless or unimportant. I feel like I make a difference and that I have the power to control my own happiness.

I submitted a request two weeks ago and have still not gotten an email back. Not even to say if Im "compatible" with your program yet. Ive been desperately been seeking help. Thanks for the false hope, "better" help!

This app has helped me so much in such a short period of time that it is completely worth the money. I have never felt better. The counselor safe great and are quick to respond. I would recommend this app.

I was skeptical about this, but since Ive struggled with being able to afford counseling and fitting it into my odd schedule I figured Id give it a shot. Though Ive only been using it for about a month it has been fantastic. I have a wonderful counselor and she has been very helpful to me. The flexibility is exactly what I need and the price for what you are getting is extremely reasonable. I highly recommend this app!

I have went through traditional therapy before, and hated the idea of going through that again. My schedule is hectic and I dislike the idea of sitting on someones couch trying to spout off your whole week and feelings in a scheduled time. This setup works awesome. I get to communicate with my counselor on a daily basis and whenever its convenient for me. I typically sit down late at night to write to her, when my thoughts are better gathered. Im responded very quickly and I feel its much more effective than a traditional approach.

This app seems like it would be great if it werent $45 a week. Yeah you get a 7 day free trial but thats not enough to help someone if they need continuous counsel but cant afford it. I know I know, "nothing in life is free" and "you get what you pay for"

This is a scam, do not fall of it or give any of your information out, they started billing me without my authorization, twice !!$180 each time, I m fighting to get my money back now. And their costumer service is the worse, they have a real person answering phones but wont give you any real answer. Dont download this, be aware!!!

I love that I dont have to wait until I have time to sit down to write a message to my counselor but can keep in touch with them anywhere. Previous version was buggy but this one solves the problems I was having, so this is now my favorite way to talk to my counselor.

I wanted to try the 7 day trail and it wouldnt let me. You need a active card and its $45 a week! Its expensive!! Theres better apps with people willing to help for free because they care not because it cost money and its their job!!

I honestly love this app I cant understand why anybody would say its a scam. Brad is the best counselor Ive ever had and Ive had quite a few. He is humble and kind and understanding and he meets me where I am. If anybody has troubles getting to a therapist like I do, this is perfect for you because you can be in your bed in your pajamas and still get the help you need. I highly recommend it!!

This app is great! My counselor listens well and gives great advice. Its so nice to have an objective person to talk to.

I saw on a review "only for straight.." Not true. If you need help seek it out. There are therapist who can help with LGBT issues too. I love the app and my therapist has been improving my life. Highly recommend!

Better help is a god send, very professional and lots of information. And when they say they are available anytime they truly are and they truly are unlimited sessions. Accurate and honest and caring counselors that truly want to help you with whatever your needs are within

It all depends on who you are matched up with, but I love this app as a way to access Better Help. Access to my messages and ability to update my billing info is all I wanted from it, and it delivers.
